“What’s New, EU?” LawPact conference in Padova: host firm Cortellazzo & Soatto

Lawyers Anna Soatto, Giovanni Tagliavini and Giacomo Olivati, partners of Cortellazzo&Soatto, welcomed their LawPact colleagues for Autumn 2025 conference held in Padova October 9 - 11. 
LawPact is an international network and association of independent commercial law firms.  Established in 2001, presently has about 60 member firms around the world and Cortellazzo & Soatto joined since the foundation.

37 member firms had lawyer delegates at the conference, from the US, Mexico, Canada, Europe, UK, and the Far East. 
The conference was focused on subjects and regulations of current interest to the members, involved in international trade, with respect to trade, economic security, transparency, with three in-depth presentations:

Prof. Alessandra Pietrobon, Professor of International Law Humanitarian Law and Disarmament at the University of Padova, gave a talk - under the patronage of the “Dipartimento di Diritto Pubblico Internazionale e Comunitario Università di Padova” - on a very timely topic: “Greenland towards independence?  How exploitation of mineral resources might affect human rights and cultural heritage”.
Dott. Raffaele Cosimo, Group Head of Anti Financial Crime at Intesa Sanpaolo, presented on a subject of great current relevance for members, focusing practice of different countries on: Current developments in fraud and anti-money laundering”
Eve Vlemincx Strategic Advisor from Belgium, delivered a presentation concentrated in the future of Law practice and behaviour: “Change Culture

On the morning of day three, participants exchanged ideas and debated the most timely, core topics for the profession, with case studies presented.
Anna Soatto presented a collaboration case drown from professional practice: “Gift to Italian residents: applicable law, tax and compliance overview”.
President Douglas Conover concluded the meeting with future conference schedule, thanking participants for making the conference outstanding.
